So further to my thread on passing my test (found here) i recieved my licence! Man this feels so sureal! I am now a driver!!

I also have the lil Punto SS booked in for a MOT on Friday :) with the paperwork going off in the morning for it transfering to my name.

Im so excited.. Now just for the tax and ins deposit to be paid and ill be driving my lil brumbrum around!

Had my first feel of the car yesterday as i reversed it out of my friends drive and down the avenue and back into the drive again.. Just to keep the car from thinking its died as its been unused for 2 months as my friend unfortunatly lost his licence.

Log book with all the MOT certs and i now have the keys so my mum whos fully comp can take it up to the garage on Friday morning :)

So yeah, meaningless thread really just wanted to express how excited im getting :D

Really cant wait until im all legel and get it on the road, i dont want to be tempted.

EDIT: Ohh the Christmas icons are back!! :D

It's very good fun, I'll have had my car for two weeks on Wednesday. At first I almost didn't want to drive it due to apprehension, but now I'm feeling much more comfortable and confident. Still brings a smile to my face whenever I walk outside though, thinking "Ha, that belongs to me!". Lame, but there we go. :)

It's a great feeling when everything comes together!

Just a word of warning, just because your mum is fully comprehensive, it doesn't automatically mean she'll be able to legally drive your car to/from the MOT! Make sure it says on her insurance that she can drive another car not owned by her! Don't want to get off to a bad start because of that!

LOL!! Just like me dude.. I stay at my mates every weekend and everytime i enter his drive i think "thats mine" :D

Aye she can but its third party.. I think, gonna make sure to be honest.

Heres some good advice : dont modify your first 3 cars!!!

Heres some good advice : dont modify your first 3 cars!!!

eh what sort of advice is that?

I am on my second car and it is a little bit modified?

Anyway congrats on getting the licence and be careful out there, dont go showing off in front of your mates or anything stupid remember your actions could lead to the loss of your own or others lives!

Don't mod your first 3 cars? Why?

probably because you will be young when you get your first car 17/18 and modifying it would send already stupidly high insurance through the roof? either that or corsas with tat stuck on look awful

LOL! :D Fair point, i dont intend on doing any real mods..

Do new seats class as a mod? I want to change the seats, the steering wheel and the gear stick :D

I think any changes from the standard count, not entirely sure, a lot of people dont declare mods not quite sure what the insurers would do ? wouldnt have thought they wouldnt pay out unless it directly caused the accident?

If I declare all the changes from stock to the mini I'll be there all bloody day! The only actual noticable one will be the change of seats which are currently from an older mini anyway, and they arn't to fancy ones anyway. Rover 220 Coupe seats hopefully, till I have the spare cash to possibly redo everything in cream hehe.

It usually is 3rd party only - just wanted to make you aware, as many (older) people think Fully Comprehensive = can drive another car :)

Yup my dad thinks this, even though Ive told him countless times its false as I'm TPF&T and have DOC cover. He seems to agree with me then weeks later announces i should get fully comp so i can drive other cars :D.
