Hello,

I just made some burgers out of chicken, how is the best way to cook them? I tried one in the pan and while it was ok it was sort of black on the outside and fairly raw on the inside, I use a high heat, would it be better to use a low heat? Maybe stick them in the oven?

depending on how you want to cook them, I either cook them as above or put them in the oven at around 180-190 degrees for 20 mins depending on your oven, flipping them halfway through to cook evenly, ensure that the oven is pre-heated.

depends on on how much time I have available.

also whats the deal with using eggs that are a month out of date? Can I just cook them really well/?

Sorry I prefer to leave the cooking to women usually.

A month?!

Ken...step away from the kitchen!

Crack open those eggs, see what they smell like... :D

I did and they smelt just fine  These are white eggs not brown eggs, I guess its better safe then sorry :p

I've got 4.5 dozen of the suckers so seems a shame to waste.

There is no difference in length of use after out of date time, an egg is an egg. I often have to throw eggs away before the date, so a month after should not be good.

You sure you are reading the month right? How did you keep them for so long?

apart from smell is to put them in water, when eggs go bad they produce gas and it cause them to float in water.

Chicken is low in fat, so it's important not to over cook it. And also more important to add ingredients like oats or breadcrumbs to keep it moist.

Shallow fry to get some colour, then place in an oven at around 160 for around 15 mins or until cooked.

This is a good plan although I'd point out that you should only do this to eggs you actually want to eat at the time to reduce the risk of cross-contamination if you put all of them into water at the same time. Normally I wouldn't even feel the need to highlight this but Ken seems to be a little less than handy in the kitchen.

um.......find a woman??

Alternatively, bit of butter/oil in the pan. High heat on each side of the burger for a min or so just to seal it. Then lower the heat and leave it to simmer until cooked through. Dont eat raw chicken! It will kill you in the face.

Alternatively, grill them for a few minutes on each side..
