That's my problem with the game too - easily the most polished and enjoyable mmo out there, but I've pretty much seen and done it all at this stage, and they're way too slow in adding new areas and expanding the gameworld south and east.

Played the game on 2 seperate times and both times i quit at level ~25 or so. It is a great game and packed with quest the only problem i found was how bad it was for casters. Running to fight a mob then having to actually stop for what felt like 5 seconds a time before you can actually cast a spell because of the "Can't use while moving"
Other than that i felt the game was great but i never saw what there was to do at end game other than them books things.

Certainly the best looking MMO that's on the market with the best story.

I certainly will be getting this on pay day as I am a lifetime subscriber so I only have to buy the addon then I can take my time with it!

Shadows of Angmar had The Rift added to it - a 12 man raid and there's also Helegrond as well.

Mines of Moria adds new 3/6 man instances and a new 12 man raid - The Watcher.

I have my copy, installed already, havent downloaded the patches yet though, thought that the latest patch would be included with the game, guess I was being too optimistic.

However, I dont actually have the urge to log in and play it...

this happens in all MMo's, i got fed up with lotro after levelling 3 chars to 50 (yes seems daft) so i moved to playing purely in the Ettenmoors on the creep side and have never had so much fun in a MP .. two Rank 7 creeps a Rank 6 and two 5's ;p

you need a few good mates who you can group with to make the most of the game otherwise it becomes a chore .. i dont do end game stuff, seems pointless spending 2-3hrs fighting NPC/Bosses when at least in Creep v Freep play you can use some degree of skill (albiet not if you join Zerg raids) and not worry about winning some crappy item ..

Enjoying the Warden so far.

Only lvl 9 and it currently seems more efficient to spam the shield attack skill and the double shield gambit than anything to get the +300 odd to block.

Looking at the scope of the Gambits though its going to be a hard class to master with timing the right gambit at the right time. Creating threat also looks like it will be an art with this class.

Loads of Wardens and RK last night. Didn't seem to be any other class in the Shire and Ered.

Loving this addon so far, adds so much to the game. The new legendary stuff is very nice too, love the way it levels up. And that you can spend points in certain areas on it.

Someone asked about if you could solo it, well I did a lot of quests yesterday and got to lvl 51 (with the help of some rested xp). And i could have solo'd all of it.

Aye there is a nice dev feature on the US site detailing that most of the Legendary instances are solo friendly.

I enjoy this game and I think its stunning, but none of my friends play it. And I cant seem to hold any games down for more than 1hr these days

@ Eeekfek whats the name of your creeps mate? spent a fair amount of time in the moors on my freep im sure i must have come across you at some point?

im almost at lvl 53 and have nearly finsihed all the eregion quests on my minstrel and so far im loving it.

minstrel DPS has been severly reduced but as long as i can get a group together its still possible to fly through the quests.

did the two Mirobel instances yesterday, the school of tham mirobel and the library of tham mirobel, both are 3 man instances and were good fun with some nice little reward, lots of heritage tokens and warding runes :)

looking foward to another evening of it and hopefully will ding 53.

we have a guy in our kin who is 54 already tho admitadly he spend 2 months in beta and made lvl 60 so he knows his way around moria already.

happy mining all see u in game

I am still waiting on Moria arriving and cant wait until i can get into it to play away. Although looking like i will be leaving my current kin and going forth to find a new one next few days, just time for me to move on and find a new one as current kin lost something for me recently and don't think it will come back.

Does the new graphic update to the existing content only come with new Mines add-on or is available in an update. I am thinking of subscribing again and starting a new character. I would not need the add-as it does not add any new low level unless it updates the graphics.

To be honest I haven't seen a huge amount of difference visually, though dx10 I only ran for like 5 minutes as I rolled a runekeeper to start and there appears to be a large bug where as soon as you use the fire spell they have the fps dips from solid 60fps down to 3fps for the duration, its a joke, turn dx10 off and its fine. As far as I could tell fine on everything else except that spell. hopefully something the patch would fix.

I believe the normal update sans Moria content is pretty hefty so would assume it has the graphical updates in, 3gigs or so in total and I believe you get the Eregion region but no leveling and no rune keeper or warden, the later seemed very fun to play up to lvl 15, Rune keeper seemed quite dull to me though its dps is supposed to only really pick up lvl 15-20 onwards.

THing is, its only £15ish and the subscription covers both so won't really cost you any extra, or less to get it now. Not sure if its available either but the lifetime subscription was £120 when you bought Moria, and £150 usually, considering theres several years more content to come I figured it was fairly cheap one off payment and I can come back in for new content whenever I like.

Moria is good, and bad, unfortunately I personally think its a tad too easy. I prefer solo'ing purely because if you ran around anything other than instances with 6 men it would be laughably easy. Solo theres almost nothing I've come across thats hard, one time solo'ing 14-15k elites is perfectly possible and thats almost as tough as it gets non instanced.

The content, although taking a while to get through, isn't too good, it all looks great and many of the story instances have been fun but to much of the story is the same in each book so far. To much in every area collecting the same crap from ridiculous locations for the same task. Some bright spark will say, thats an MMO for you, but this is rather more painfully similar in the various area's of Moria. dissappointed that whatever the place the other side of Moria is called is really very easy to get to, and theres smeg all there.

The other thing is, I don't feel hugely different at 58, than I did at 50, hunters get almost smeg all in terms of new stuff, basically one semi useful attack, a daze, and thats it. after 8 levels i still have most of my original armour which simply hasn't been outmatched so far, my morale/power are very similar to what they were, the attacking style/rotation is the same, enemies haven't vastly gained in power, they jumped from circa 3k moral at lvl 50 to circa 4k morale at lvl 51-52 and haven't really moved from there. This was always a problem with the original aswell, at various arbitrary levels all enemies above a certain level got a ridiculous bump in attacking power, morale, power and armour, etc, while you've only gone up one level and it goes from easy to stupidly hard. Theres no relatively good scaling across mob's levels, while at the other end of the scale say here, a lvl 52 mob is as hard to beat as a lvl 58 mob with similar weapons, damage output and morale with you doing similar damage to both mobs, it feels odd to say the least.

its still fun to play, I just, when I look back at all the questing, book work, stuff i've killed and scaling of difficulty in moria, scaling of mobs and my character, very little has come of all this effort. THe same change, from 40-50 previously yeilded far larger changes in mob's, story, zones, and character increased in everything far more than these 10 levels.

Thanks for the in depth reply. As you say it's only £15 so why not. I am not sure what class to play, maybe a lore master as I need a change from healers. I stopped playing earlier on in the year when I reached 50 with a minstrel and since then I tried both AOC and WAR and lasted about 10 days in each.

I will definitely want to run the game in DX10 (new rig not in sig) as it looks rather yummy, so I am disappointed to hear about the Runekeeper bug as I was also considering this class. Is it a bug that affects everyone in DX10?

There are subtle but some quite effective effects with DX10. The main one I notice is the tree shadows, suddenly you get all the leaves and branches accurately shadowed, in forest areas it looks amazing when the trees are swaying.

I play mainly for the fun of exploration now, can't really see the point of levelling for a few new abilities or grinding incessantly for the traits.

I too love exploration which may be the reason why I did not care much for AoC and WAR. I would even consider EQ2 or Vanguard again if it were not for the lack of population in lower level areas. I wish someone would put back the epic into MMORPG's.
