I have been looking to get one or the other, they come across very similar in options but the blackberry seems to have developed more, like the built in GPS.

Also for what it is the blackberry seems a lot cheaper in the long run?

Any advice would be great...

p.s. I have been nosing at the tocco aswell as a level down, as this seems to cover a lot to.

thanks

The storm is the one phone I have currently looked into. My bosses other half looks after the VIPs at Vodafone and he really doesn't rate the storm.

I know the shop in stoke has a massive amount of phones delivered for launch and they all sold out by dinner time :O

would you know why he doesnt rate it,
poor build?

haha i didnt think they were that popular to be honest it took me a while to find were to buy one.

At the time he was comparing them to the Bold, so it was lacking some of the features of that phone. I got this info through his missus/my boss so it wasn't too specific but I just assumed that if an employee of Vodafone said they wouldn't own one it really can't be that good

true true.... i need to go into the stores and have a good mess around on them. problem is one voda and one O2, pain! unless them multi stores have them and let me fiddle.

There's a lot of teething problems with the Storm atm.

I was going to get one...still thinking of one but I'm going to wait and see whether new firmware will fix the problems first.

touch HD... new one to me, must be in the dark ages =( ?

yeah it is the first release so could be a good idea that thanks.

I have to deal with Blackberries in my dept at work and I must say they drive me mental. They still seem to have the issue where sometimes they won't pick GPRS back up so you have to pull and re-seat the battery  I really don't rate BB's build quality either.

lol, I have also worked with BB's for our IT department. THEY SUCK!!! (speaking from a support point of view).

I have had a Storm since last week. While I haven't seen all the problems listed on the Vodafone Storm forum (my battery, for example, lasts two days easily, with moderate use), the phone itself just doesn't feel right for my use. I love the screen (it's both touch and click - which every review I read failed to mention) and I find it quite easy to use. The setup for email was so easy, I was really surprised.

On the downside, the camera is the worst I've seen on a phone for many years - looking back, even my Nokia 6600 (three upgrades ago) was a far superior camera. The music player is well-hidden and lacks a touch interface (but has a click one) and the accelerometer can be temperamental.

I'm giving it a few more days, but it's not looking good. I'll say this though - if you never use the camera on your phone (and I like mine for those "OMG quick, take a pic of that" usually in the pub :D), then this could be a good option for you.

I have had my BB Storm since Friday.
It was slow until I changed some settings, then it was quicker.
When I go onto web sites it shows the text but no pictures.
The battery does not last very long I charged it up before I went to bed at 7.00am it was dead.
When I open an app e.g. maps or browser, the app has to shut down by using the “BB” key so it is using power.
The screen is slightly marked even though it has been in the holder when not being used.
The typing is better in horizontal mode since the settings changes but the "a" button is fiddly.
It may be better with a firmwear update, that is said to be out but not available for Vodafone.
It is going back even though I like the phone, but do not want to be stuck with it for 18 months.
I am going back to Orange on my Mk1 N95. I may go for the N97 next year.

I haven't played with the Storm yet, but a Colleague of mine told me that her mother had one and hates it. It's just really awkward apparently

ok I-phone here i come.

Settles that one.

Cheers peeps!

Yeah I have the iphone and it settles it for me too (was thinking of getting it) - with all these probs - I'm keeping the iphone for now.

Iphone 'for the win' imo.

I just got the Storm myself this morning and its a nice looking phone but the build quality isnt that great...the actual screen moves around...dunno if its my unit but ive read a few people on other forums that have mentioned the same problem. The touchscreen isnt all that responsive and its laggy and buggy.

I like it though but sadly dont think i can live with the issues it has so probably will go back to Voda.
