A combination of forgetting my works pass and some nice ice resulted in this :

was turning to head back home to get said pass, brake turn...turnn... TUUUURRN.. ah.. that didnt work.

Happened about 2 minutes after i had finished speachifying to my partner, who has recently started driving lessons, about the dangers of driving in icy conditions. GO ME

Hit a wall, corner off.

2 minutes later an old guy walks past and starts talking...after saying he doesnt think anyone is in the building he says... ' ooh, son.. thats gonna cost ya'

:o

aye.. realised i left that out of the op... current status of wall = smug i should imagine anyway... it had a grand total of 3 scrapes on it from what i could see.

In Plymouth...

In some ways so glad my car doesn't have it's engine in yet, as RWD not gonna be fun (well... it is but that's another story :D) in this weather. Was challenging enough trying to stay upright walking, let alone keep car on the road. Gritters were not out that I had seen :(

Walked out of door with wife at 6:55 this morning, slipping all over the place. 1 minute later, watched a cyclist fall off her bike. She thought her wheel had jammed, and hadn't realised it was icy (opps!).

Pretty much shuffled to the bus stop, people still hairing around at silly speeds except within the estate. Still being daft and slamming on brakes before junctions though

Take it easy out there guys :)

lol :)

Walls tend to have a certain smugness about them when you hit them and they remain standing.... on the other hand, one of my mates drove into (another of) my mates walls, and it just fell down looking sorry for itself - with no car damage at all!!

Sorry to hear about it Rick. The roads are pretty dangerous in Dumfries today. I got a lift into work as it was just far too cold for the bike, and we had a close shave slowing down to let a car pass on the opposite side, there are a lot of parts that the salt hasnt quite hit on the roads!

Yep i'd be getting some parts from a breaker for that, bet u'd get the wing, bumper and light for 100, if you're lucky in the right colour, if not then 100-150 for paint. Bet that wouldn't even cover the excess on the insurance.
