Kasperskey or ESET/NOD

I had kaspersky Internet security on my Vista 64 untill just a couple months ago
During a kaspersky update I got a BSOD.

Had to login in safe mode and have vista tell me kaspersky was at fault and only solution was uninstalling it
Will not be getting a full Internet security version ever again (got it free).

After that i tried the nod32 trial and thought it was great until it run out.

currently using avira but am also considering both eset and kaspersky (just antivirus) because avira is annoying.

...Went away from Nod after the last prog update. Took far too long to scan after the update. On Kaspersky now, via the Barclays free for a year offer.

i have Kas for free via barclays for some reason. it's ok, but ~NOD32 ran better on my PC. (Vista x64).

once this free years thingy is over, i wont go back to Kas. i'll go to Eset again i think.

both!
nod32 as background scanner (good against latest threats)
kav for weekly on-demand full scans (as its got a bigger database)

Forgot to mention Avira ;)

Has the superior scanning/detection rates of Kaspersky and the speeds of Nod32, tbh you cant go wrong with either 3 there all top players at the end of the day but atm am enjoying Avira :)

I have given pretty much all A/Vs a good old run. Last year in fact, I run one on each of my LAN PCs ( I have 12 ) and without a shadow or a doubt the BEST A/V is NOD32... Second comes AVAST, then Avira. Kaspersky isnt bad, norton can go stick a tree up its crack, and I tried a few others but they simply were not worth bothering with due to or reason or another.

I know a mate who had 3 PCs and he kept forcing them to become infected and only NOD32 was able to fully kill 100% of all his viral files but it has a poor spyware detection and so NOADAWARE was used there...

End of the day, I see far too many people only using an A/V and expecting it to be perfect when in fact, you really should have a good A/V ( Anything thats not norton or Symantec I suppose? ) and a good Anti Spyware too.

Right now Im using NOD32 on my No1 and 2 PCs and the Free AVAST on all my others, and NOADAWARE for extra safety, plus my firewall too of course!

another vote for NOD32 here on vista x64.... have used it for years and never missed a virus or trojan.

well recommended.
