Vista Service Pack 2 Beta is now out for Technet subscribers

Microsoft has officially released the Vista SP2 Beta for Technet subscribers.

beta = testing version

i'm not saying you can't remove it. but sometimes people get stuck in uninstall loops
i'm also not bashing beta sp's, just saying that every joe bloggs shouldn't insatll it on their main machine

all the other beta SP's had the add/remove option, but for about a third of people it wouldn't uninstall properly

i'll be giving this SP a run myself when we can get it

I was more talking about XP SP2 beta's the early ones could not be removed or updated to newer builds.

Installed, hopefully it fixes my problem with hanging on suspend, otherwise I'm likely to go back to XP64.

Installed it on my laptop yesterday and all seems fine so going to put it onto my main x64 desktop.

EDIT: Does this beta put evaluation copy... text in the bottom right, seems to have done it to my laptop which is a copy of Vista Business which came with the laptop and is activated.

EDIT: Found this, seems like it's normal

* After you install Service Pack 2 Beta, your desktop may display the following text:
Evaluation Copy
This text does not mean that your system is no longer “Genuine." This text only indicates that you installed a test version of software that is time limited.
* The Evaluation Copy text may be displayed on the second startup after you install the service pack. Also, the Evaluation Copy text may remain during the first restart after you uninstall the service pack. However, this text does not appear after the next restart.

Nope, still hang intermittantly.

Update your BIOS then? The blame for your suspend not working is not going to soley be Vista. The BIOS has to be fully complient too

thats what they said about my HP laptop(it even has a sticker on the laptop)
i still had to update the bios to get it to work 100%

Getting a new motherboard today (i think), had a feeling i was going to have to reinstall Vista again so last night i tried installing this...... very easy to uninstall.....the bugger did itself Got to 100% and said:

'Service pack did not install. Reverting changes'
