I have a project ongoing at the moment, which is basically making a massive collage on my bedroom walls. Now online , boots offer 6"x4" prints at 6p if you get 150(which i am) now i am printing pictures of graffiti, musicians and album covers.

If i upload all my pictures in 6"x4" onto the service, these will be left untouched and be printed as they are on the computer. But when i look at the pictures in photoshop, they are no way 6x4, is this just something photoshop does? As i don't want to send photos in which won't eb 6x4! Stupid question but i can't be bothering wasting money at the money at the moment!

Are you measuring the image on your monitor with a ruler?

EDIT: I just double-checked in photoshop, with a ruler against my monitor, it's definitely 3:2.

no i got a postcard, and put it over and it was clearly bigger!

im starting to doubt wether i should do it now, because the resolution will be poor as there all pulled of the net, hmmmm.

Surely use the rulers within Photoshop. Open the image to 100% and then :

You can change them from pixels to cm or inches. Other way is to open in PS, click image and then canvas size I think, then just see if its 3:2

Erm rulers? Photoshop? Right click on the image up there, look at the dimensions in pixels and divide height by width...432 / 288 = 1.5, which is the same as 3:2. Done.

Open in photoshop - crop tool - set to 6 x 4 or 4 x 6 depending on orientation and then see if, at full extension from top left corner, any part of the image is outside of the crop box.

I find this the quickest way to check multiple images :)

right if thats sorted, if my images are all 72 in resolution, how will they come out? again i don't want to waist money on substandard products, i have never really dealt with printing images ( only just getting round to it in class)
