B GRADE- HELP

Would not bother with B grade stock to be honest, had a nightmare when i purchased a Asus P5KC mobo from them, came with all parts except backplate for the case. Spoke to a guy called Tom in CS and he basically told me to go and jump. Not sure if it the same now but when buying B grade it didnt stipulate parts could be missing. all for trying tol save a tenner!

That's really stupid, I figured it would include everything you need - eg the board and I/O plate, clearly not.

What do they expect people to do with these boards without a backplate?

I'm sure I've seen on a motherboard manufacturer's site that they can send you a replacement backplate... perhaps if one didn't come it'd just be a couple of quid for a replacement.

That said the backplate isn't needed.

I don't have a backplate, for the last 4 boards I've used I've not bothered with the backplate either.
The boards don't need a weak flimsy bit of metal to be used.

Edit: People just shouldn't buy B-Grade if they are scared of not getting a shiny box or some bundled rubbish.

My Abit IX38 didn't even come in the right box, and there was nothing other than the motherboard in there. Didn't mind because it was a bargain. The lack of IO shield doesn't bother me.

Ive had loads of boards from bgrade, mostly asus and gigabyte. All the asus boards bar one came with nothing - just a brand new board in a brown box which was obviously an RMA return from asus. Thre only one that came complete was a P5N-D 750i board

The Gigabye boards i had were all boxed but missing cables.

Im itching to get another 780i board from bgrade at the moment :p

Lol, it would never work without and it looks awfull without when you have your case back to front on the desk.

//sorry for the sarcasm, but couldnt resist

Actually it looks awful when you have a massive window in the side of you're case and you can see a huge gaping whole in the back :)

wise man, motherboard is really the heart of the system. wouldn't gamble with that. and too complicated to fully test them + missing cables, backplates, etc... is annoying

What about motherboards in the clearance section but not tagged *b-grade*?

Are these brand new end of line products? Or are they fully retail boxed, but not everything in pristine condition, or rma'd products from manufacturer?

I to was wansering what "B Grade" stock was all about, as I just spotted an Asus Rampage Extreme board for £100 cheaper than usual on the B Grade stock, so I am thinking about taking the plung and buying it, though, I have noticed that there isn't any Core 2 Quad 9550 OEM chips in stock here, and that was the CPU I wanted for my next build, and by the time they do come back into stock those Asus boards won't be available in B Stock knowing my luck!!!!

I really want that board though!
