£70 to spend on a graphics card

Hi guys, a friend of mine has £70 to spend tops, what card do you think he should be buying? im a bit out of the loop these days and all these new models have confusedd the hell out of me

Play games?
Which games?
What resolution?

4850 ~£120
9800gt ~£95


that's what i'd aim for

anything else has really poor bang/buck

9600gt, its a bit poorer than a 8800gt, but it's still decent, and for £72

i realise its not going to kick arse but were just looking to get the best for his moolah. cheers guys

If he's a gamer then i'd recommend him saving a bit ore and getting the 4850/4870.
Other than that the card that "bledd." said is good for the dolla

Thats generous, lucky him!

Dont forget a ?45 overclocked 4650 can 'max out' all current games (Deadspace, Fallout 3, GRID etc) at 1280*1024 or similar.

Are they really? I had a look at some benchies (from XBitLabs) and they seem to win the head to head against the 9800GT.
