Lapland New Forest

Made by idiots for idiots. How can anyone have honestly expected anything different?

I'm not sure if you've seen the actual pre-opening advertisements, but they portrayed the park in a much better light than it really was. You couldn't distinguish it from all the other Christmas-themed parks until you actually went there. Calling all the disapppointed families idiots is too far in my opinion.

Its been closed down, here is an extract from the website:

With my deepest regret and sincerest apology I am left with no option but to announce that I am forced to close the children's entertainment theme park "Lapland New Forest" for 2008 due ( I believe at the time of publishing ) to:
  • Intentional organised crowd manipulation and event sabotage during and since our first trading weekend.
  • The unscrupulous and inaccurate negative bias media broadcasts of both local and national press and television companies that contributed significantly to fuelling widespread public concern, frenzy and distraction since the 1st December 2008.
  • What I believe to be a wholly illegal action by the credit merchant company called "Streamline" of seizing /withdrawing all funds without notice from the Lapland New Forest Ltd bank account leaving us completely unable to trade.
For all people wishing to claim financial reimbursement I can only advise ( at the time of writing ) that you return to our website for further information on this important matter.

LOL, i love how they have taken a load of pics of their theme park full of snow saying "this is what it was like". Yes because it has been snowing .

Me and a few mates were gonna jump in a taxi and go down yesterday just to laugh! Everywhere keeps saying "near Southampton" which is strange seeing as this joke of a place is 1 mile outside of Bournemouth!

lol :/

It's fake snow, it wasn't THAT much of a scam, there was snow there.

 Ehh?

They have added new pics to their website documenting what the park was like. These pics show loads of snow, covering the trees and ground. This is due to the fact it has actually snowed the past few days lol.

The site looked nothing like that when all the families turned up.

Doesn't look fake to me, unless thats the Hollywood special FX at work making fake snow fall from the sky.

You can get snow blowing machines you know...it was on the news showing them covering the trees with the stuff.

All the pictures Ive seen taken by the people who went must be fake then? That picture has been taken after the recent snowfalls, you can see the snow falling from the sky.

If it had actually looked like it does in the evidence pictures they have put on their site it wouldn't be closed up now.

I can see what he means when he said they would have been better off turning up when its dark to get the full effect on the lighting though. It does look a lot better at night.

Unless I'm severely mistaken that wasn't even remotely the same place. The website just had random pics, some of the log cabins looked amazing but there weren't any there, they had portacabins instead. They may as well have gone to carboot sale. Wasn't just a case of absence of snow.

Ahh i thought it had snowed all over Britain. Oh well those new pics are a far cry from the ones Ive seen on the BBC website.

Anyone reckon they have closed down their New Forest scam and taken it to the West Midlands.

If you look at the source HTML, there are still references to Lapland New Forest in the code.

<meta name="Identifier" content="lapland, lapland new forest, santas grotto, santa's grotto, santa grotto, meet father christmas, christmas theme park">

I've just noticed that Lapland West Midlands now have a disclaimer on their main page that they are a seperate company from Lapland New Forest. Just a pity they didn't change one of their meta tags at the same time.

Dirty scammers.
