He walked out on Chelsea to go and manage Brazil again after his first season in my game :D ...but then José Mourinho came back to Chelsea! But he only got them to 5th in the prem haha.


Also "Man Utd have announced a new kit sponsor. The 4 year sponsorship deal is estimated to be worth £16m per annum". Awesome :D

I just finished my second season, already have transfers agreed for Mamadou Sakho (£25m - I should have bought him earlier :() and Federico Fazio (£12m) so they will join in a few days when the transfer window opens again. Also sold Carrick to Roma for £25m. I need to sort out a new goalkeeper for at least a couple of seasons as Vincenzo Fiorillo is taking a while to reach his potential, or I could just stick with Foster for a season or two, hmm.

Scolari was sacked in Feb '09 on my game, Chelsea lying 11th in the table. Still havn't hired a replacement yet though and i'm now in mid march.

Edit: Just had probably my best game ever on FM. Rovers vs Tottenham, we're 4-1 down at Half Time thanks to a Campbell Hat-trick and a 2 minute goal from Jenas, Derbyshire got ours. I bring on two of my youngsters Thiago and McGowan at half time and immediatley peg it back to 4-3 with Derbyshire getting his hat-trick, Steven Reid then gets one for them (sold him in January) making it 5-3 before Thiago scores 2 in the last 2 minutes to make it 5-5. Amazing stuff, and the board actually dared to criticise me for signing him!

Finished 1st season finally and in pre-season friendlies. Went on an awesome run at the end, winning what must have been the last 8 games and got to UEFA semi's, losing to man city just. Finished 9th overall, was 10th all season, but there was too much gap and top half were winning with me.

Got given 19m close season to spend, though i sold Sidwell and Shorey for 5m each.

Now for the most awesome transfers ever:

Adriano : £1m then £1m over 12 months

Transfer listed by request! Could've got Owen for same price, but he wants silly wages.

Sanchez: £6.5

Offered to me because wanted to leave, beat Ac Milan, Juventus and others to him, by offering like £500 a week more than asked lol. Wonderkid 20yo striker from Udinese whos scored 6 in 2 games so far. Fast as hell and first choice for me already.

Wilshere: £4.1m

Scouted him again and scout reckoned he'd be interested this time and i would get him for cheap, as he's still in reserves. We all know what this guy does, didn't need him really, but at that price...

Jack Rodwell: £15.5m

A mistake in terms that i kinda chose this guy over Sakho. I had £16.5m accepted for sakho, but he refused my wage offer and signed new PSG contract. I almsot went back on my save, but my scouts rate Rodwell better (19ab, 17 pot. ab. scout).

My coaches and scouts still think Curtis Davis is best thing since sliced bread, yet he makes lots of mistakes, according to all of them, no one can be better. Back line still wobbly though. Santon i don't think will be a top RB, i may have to do a WB formation in future. So squad is heavily attacking due to my splurge on cheap star players:

I'm a bit annoyed that "controversial decisions" only relate to disallowed goals and penalties. West Ham just scored a goal 7 minutes into a 4 minute injury time stretch and as a result i've probably lost a spot in Europe.
 
Anyone have experience with Jack rodwell? I've been very good in transfer market so far, but i think this is a complete blunder. He's only 18, stats are mainly 14's, and £15.5m.

Not many seem to know about him, he's borderline wonderkid and scouts rated him higher than Sakho for potential, infact, anyone else, at 5-6 stars. My balance is down to £20m now and no budget left. I think my scouts and coaches are screwing me, they say Adriano was just 5 stars, they all have 18+ for seeing ability and potential, but seem to rate people low i know should be higher, i.e. Sakho.
 
Here's a strange one I had last night. Had just won a game 1-0. Sent my assistant to do the press conference.

He was asked about who he thinks the world player of the year will be and said Somis or someone I can't remember who plays in France. Now bear in mind I am Stalybridge Celtic, what a random question! To top it all off, in saying that it was Somis, "It is thought that Mitchell's comments will have a negative effect on team morale" or something to that effect. WTF is that about? :D

Im not sure about Rodwell tbh. His potential is excellent but his current ability seems a long way off. His performances have been dire everytime i scout him. I think it might be hard for him to reach his potential.
 
Screw the English approach. Just finished my first season, finishing 8th overall. Sold Samba for 6 mil and am currently offloading a few other players. Brought in a young right midfielder, Santon for 5 mil from Inter who Massimo Neri absolutley loves (Good call on Neri whoever suggested it!). Fazio has just signed on a season long loan and i'm now waiting for the Santa Cruz offers to come in. Going to get rid of him and Robets and bring in one established and one young striker. Got 20 mil with which to do it. Told the board i'm headed for a high mid table finish next season but with the squad i'm planning to build I could well push for Champs League.

Not been this excited since FM 07 :D. Anyone know of any way to get Bayern to release their hold on Toni Kroos? Hes another player Neri is loving and after looking at his stats i'm not suprised. Bayern rejected a 5mil + Santa Cruz offer for him!
 
bugger, my record transfer is a complete baffoon. I'll offload Milner (he's really good actually, but i got better potential warming bench), and get an oldie for backup.

He does get better, but not by too much tbh.

His stats are too average for me.
 
Oh well, offered milner to clubs for £30m, Barcelona have offered it :)

I've heard of £40m for him before, but by man city. Milner is good, runs flanks well and keeps ball, runs all day, can't cross for crap though and £30m....yes!

I'll buy another CB and DR now :)

I'm going to find a better scout i think! though he's got 19/17!

Apparently Sakho still gets awesome, so might look there.
 
Arshavin is going on a free end of season (oops), so signed Deco for £500k as a backup to who i have left.

Bought Barzagli for £11.5m, he seems best that will join me for a good CB.

Board have accepted £29m for my LB marcelo, he is awesome, it's over bloody 24 months i think too or some crap, might go for a more defensive one now though.
 
Oh, *clap* *clap* Lerner, £29mil for best attacking left back i could get, now it's £16mil and rising for bale or insua, which will probably take over £20mil, grr.
 
Anyone scoring a shed load of goals?

Im in April '09, only Ronaldo (16), Berbatov (12) and Tevez (10) have got into double figures. Having loads of chances, just cant score.

Its hurting my goal difference in the league. Joint top with Arsenal. I have a GF of 36 compared thier 48 :( Scored 15 more goals than me.
 
Im struggling to score as well. Adebayor bangs them in (27 in 40 this season) but everyone else seems to struggle, closest is van persie with 12 in 35. Im finding it very easy to keep clean sheets though, only conceded 7 goals in 31 games this season in the premiership so far.
 
Just finished season 1 with Fulham, well, actually in pre-season for season 2 now. Finished 16th overall which wasnt too bad considering the lack of consistency and injuries. Andy Johnson was top scorer with 8, yes I know, very poor attack wise.

Sold Hughes, Kamara, E.Johnson, Davies, Baird, Murphy and released some youth players and splashed the cash in an attempt to attack mid table. Have completed the signings of:

Carioca - £3.2m
Assenjo - £6m
Torrejon - £3.2m
Andy Hughes - £300,000 (LB for Boro who got relegated)

I am hoping to get Downing for £5m but Milan are interested.

Also, for a big shock, Real splashed out £40m on Bendtner! :eek:
 
Same here. 14 conceded in 31. Best in the league :)

Talking about Chelsea managers. Ancelotti is there now after sacking Scolari in Feb.
