Funny isn't it how if it were in Manchester city center it would be a block of flats but put it in the middle of London and it becomes an Apartment Block.
They are both the same thing but apartment sounds more posh than flat LOL
not really, you can have flats in london, apartments are more expensive. Flats tend to mean small but multiple room places, IE you have a bathroom, a bedroom, a kitchen, a living room etc, etc. AN apartment tends to be a single huge room, think the apartments from Friends, with bedrooms and bathroom separate but the rest massive space. Expensive apartments tend to be the huge ceiling, massive room, bedroom and bathrooms and thats it. Often converted factories and the like.
Flats and apartments normally mean different things, though lots of people will use one word for both.
