And at the moment the precise details of my double helix would mean what in the wrong hands?

Sorry, I'm all up for a national DNA database.

Any crime, there's a good chances DNA's been left, so instantly there's a good chance of catching someone...

Seems win win to me...

I don't want it...

Namely cause I don't want to get caught for past present and future crimes. (i would like to add 99% of them are essentially "victimless" and would be less so if they where legal)

Of course this is a poor argument, so I'd hop on the human rights bandwagon, one more vote an all that.

They could clone you.

And they'd do this because I am so astoundingly amazing I assume? And they couldn't just grab my DNA from a million other sources I assume?

For goodness sake... It offers soooo many benefits, and the things against it are generally just irrational ill-thought out moans!

TBH, I know we shouldn't be concerned unless we have done something bad. But if I were to ever get in a situation where my whole life came crashing down, and I committed a crime that I can't conceive of now, I would like the thought of perhaps getting away with it.

I don't want it because I don't trust the data to be controlled correctly and I don't trust the police to use it correctly.

I also worry about what the database would develop into and what it would be used for in the future.

I don't mind them keeping the DNA of convicted criminals, but I don't see why the innocent should be forced to hand it over.

Well, maybe if you knew you most likely couldn't get away with it, you wouldn't do it...

Every rapist out there, would have seconds thoughts before they acted... But to some their ill-thoughtout reasons are more important than preventing such acts, or catching the perpertraitors.
