***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

i like advanced, its my optimal difficulty, but have recently swiched to VS thanks to the [OCUK] crew :D

oc uk crew will be smaller... gettin annoyed with all the noobs complaining about difficullty!!! valve locked it to normal how stupid! they should just add the ability to change it to what ever you want.. not force good players into campaign mode just to enjoy the game... :/

why would i be awful? im ok.... not the best not the worst but the game should not be boring! wait for others who play a lot.. rob, lyon, sharpy etc... they will say the same thing.. cos thats a mistake from valve to force players to normal mode?!?!? even advanced feels easy.. :o

Sorry, it was a bit of an arsey comment from me - stressful day at work.

What I meant was that in versus mode, normal is a good difficulty. I agree that in co-op mode you definitely want advanced or expert preferably though.

advanced would be the best as i said before... normal is to easy for more skilled players if they play as a team.. of course randoms who rush alone normal for them feels like expert... :(

Normal is a good difficulty for vs if youre new to the game and/or have a terrible aim. The survivors have such an advantage as it is (range) that if they use the surroundings properly they'll rarely have any trouble getting all 4 with good health to the endzone.

Normal is fine really - it makes the Infected team work hard for their victory.

erm... probably be busy eating at about 6... maybe 7???

what server???

217.168.150.203:27017 - norm?
217.168.150.203:27018 - VS?

Those servers are the best. Hosted by yours truly :p

I'll prob hand out rcon to someone on here as I'm not online enough at the moment.

I disagree...and I'm not new to the game by any means.

However, as I seem to be alone on this I'll do some more testing :)

Had two of the best ever versus games this afternoon with a good OcUK crew. Awesome games - both really tight, with sometimes the survivors making it, sometimes dying a third of the way through. Whatever changes they put through, it certainly seems to have made the game more exciting - for me at least.

Although after the last game, "The Borthood of Combine L4D !!" stayed in the lobby to accuse our team of cheating. Apparently someone tricked him at some point and according to one of the others on that team, he spent the rest of the game accusing us of being cheats....the fool.

We kicked ass! Talking of ass, mine is numb after not moving for 4 and a half hours >.<

Well I don't touch campaign I find that boring, to me versus is where it's at.

Campaigns better with people you 'know' I feel....and on advanced at least...otherwise you just walk through it really.

But I do love a good game of versus :) Haven't played for a few days now though.

whos up for a versus at 8? gettin annoyed with people kicking me for playing on my own.. oh and runing the first in the save room... not staying with them to die when a tank comes... :/

I'm glad theyve locked the difficulty, ive had two games now where halfway through a film some git has joined and started arsing with the diff to make him win :(
It will hopefully breed better infected too, as there is no extra help (which imo is how it should be on vs).

ive played the game a fair bit and can see why they have limited versus to normal.

If your a decent infected team you can completely dominate on anything higher than nomal, even the hordes on advanced do enough damage.

Honestly i prefer the advanced versus simply because its more of a challenge for the survivors which it always should be imo.

Th eproblem with L4D as with any co-op game is that your team is only as good as the 4 players in it, you only need one person running off on theri own or not interested in the team and you will not last.

Ive played a few versus servers where we have 8 OCUK guys on and its been fantastic fun, even when one team seems to be having the edge with regular tank spawns etc its great to see how a team who is getting dominated can still pick them selves up with teamwork and grind their way through a level.

For me th enormal difficulty in versus will just make games longer, not necessarily worse but longer for sure, for me the worst thing about normal is the lack of hordes. If a boomer gets you you should be panicking about the horde coming, not sitting with the melee button to swipe away the half dozen zombies.
