Hi guys,

I recently purchased the Marx Brothers DVD Box Set (it's the green one) and my mum is worried that they are cartoons, rather than the films (:p) Is there anyway I can double check? I don't want to open it as it is a xmas present.

Cheers.

Am I alone in absolutely loving Groucho Marx, but absolutely hating Harpo Marx? I am indifferent to Chico Marx. Zeppo Marx doesn't even register on my conciusness.

You're not alone. I love the Marx brothers films but there always seems to be one bit where Harpo has to do his musical number, normally seems to last about ten minutes aswell. Mind you if you've got the DVD I suppose you can just skip those bits.

I've been meaning to pick up that box set for a while now, like a year or two haha. I might eventually get round to buying it. Just got one of Chaplin's later films, Monsieur Verdoux for £2.20, bargain, only need a few more to complete my Chaplin collection, I decided to buy all the releases separately when I should really have just bought the box set.

Agreed. Groucho was the funny one, and the only reason Chico and Harpo were in was to amuse the young children watching who wouldn't understand Groucho.

Have same set and can confirm not cartoon. Recommend watch Night at Opera first.

If getting Chaplain then musts are Le Kid and Modern Times.

"Will you marry me? Did he leave you any money? Answer the second question first" Classic. Harpo on the other hand, whenever he comes on the screen I just want to punch his face.
