Can't enable mic with Speedlink Medusa Pro-Gamer headset and XFI Xtreme Music

I replaced my Medusa headset with a new one of the same brand as I thought the mic was faulty, but having plugged in a brand new one this morning I still can't enable the microphone.

I'm using a XFi Xtreme Music soundcard. Anyone know how to enable the mic using the Creative software. I'm getting nowhere

I'm dying to play L4D online with some mates but can't till I sort this out.

Is there an on/off switch on the cable control by any chance? Quite a few peeps fall for that one the first time they use a headset for ventrillo/teamspeak.

Check in your X-Fi console that the Mic is'nt muted. And also check the headset itself to make sure you've not muted it.

Sorted. I was plugging the mic jack into the wrong socket.
