Hi there,

Just after any information on the above monitor. Ive read a few reviews but I'm after some user opinions or added information on this monitor.

One forum user said about this monitor:

Pity its a TN panel as looks wise its stunning.

What exactly is a TN panel? Why doesn't this user think its as good as others? What are the others? Does it even matter?!!

Any help would be appreciated as it is head blagging this hardware buying lark.

Thanks. ;)

TN is a cheaper type of panel with fast response times, but poor image quality/viewing angles when compared with more expensive types. That being said the v2400W is very good according to the reviews I've seen.
Other types include IPS, MVA and more. These types have blacker blacks, are truer to the images they and told to display, and have generally better viewing angles. Response times on these other types can lead to ghosting however-a trace of the previous image remains. But most are ok :)

Hope this helps,
Darkstroke

Brill!

I've heard that apparently this monitor is good for gaming. Is image quality not important for games? It it more important for image editing etc?

How would it stand up against the odd movie?

Thanks again.

That's what I thought. So if the image quality is not the best then surely games won't look as good and therefore is not a good choice for gamers.

Ok lets keep it simple. Will I see better/similar/worse quality from this than a Hanns.G HC194D. Have a search for this monitor for more details.

Typical. I finally decided on this monitor, but went to order it today to find it out of stock in the few places I had seen it. The one place which still had stock has hiked it's price by £150. No chance of me paying that.

So back to square number one.

Can anyone recommend another monitor:

24"
HD
1:1 pixel mapping
1920 x 1200
Around £250

Thanks.

Unless your a real gamer and want speed and tweak shots, online gamer.

So I would still be able to get HD... movies, TV etc even if the monitor only has a DVI port. Id just need to get a couple of HDMI - DVI adapters to go between the GPU and the monitor?
