I wouldn't call myself a great fan as such, some of it is tasty and some of it is Hoegaarden. Put it this way, I wouldn't go out of my way just to drink a Belgian beer although I've enjoyed several.

I was a Stella fan but went off it overnight for some reason.

I like Peeterman Artois though.

Partial to a drop of Leffe, has to be drunk in moderation though as im all over the shop after 4 pints.

Dunno if it counts as proper Belgian Beer but the the Belgian Abbey Beer that Tesco sells is good stuff. They replaced it with a horrible French Wheat Beer a while back but they seem to have restocked it recently. Highly recommended!

Love the stuff. I'm a big fan of Delirium Tremens (and the bar in Brussels), as well as the occasional indulgence of Kreik at Chrismas time, and some Rochefort Trappiste when I'm feeling lazy.

The only pub round here that sells Leffe will only serve it in half pint measures.

I'v never really been tempted as I assumed it's just a Belgian version of Kestrel Super Strength?

Should try making some of your own beer using a kit - plenty of kits around

I love Belgian beer.

Hoegaarden Grand Cru
Duvel
Chimay
Tesco Finest Belgian Abbey beer (75cl bottle)
La Gauloise
Leffe (any of them, but Tesco Finest above is better than Blonde)
Grimbergen
Rochefort Trappistes 10 (very strong!)

Good thing about strong foreign beers is that they dont taste repulsive, unlike special brew, gold label etal. Christ that stuff is vile.

I had two bottles of this potion the other night and only now have my shattered bowels recovered sufficiently to return to my desk and online!

Wasn't that bad but boy, did it make me windy.

Don't know a great deal about Belgian beer, yet..................We are having one of our yearly european city breaks back end of March and are spending 4 nights in Antwerp..Look forward to seeing some good beer tips in this thread.
