I finally decided to crack out the 40D and 17-55 USM IS on this fantastic morning, unfortunately I think the combo is back-focusing, but otherwise sharp as a tack!

Here they are:

I tried to get some drip photos but couldn't really get anything decent and close enough (Any recommendations for a macro lens? I was thinking Canon 100mm F/2.8...)

C&C of-course welcome :p

Any of the 90mm/100mm Macro lens are very highly rated. I would take a look at the Tamron and Sigma 90's before spending the extra on the Canon. The Canon has the best focussing of the three, but for most macro stuff you'll be using the manual focus anyway so it doesn't really matter.

To be honest though, all three are very good lens and you will be pleased with the results from all of them.

Love the forst patterns on what looks like a car roof ?!

Was on the windscreen of my car, thought it looked quality :D

Needed the 'clarity' setting in lightroom to 100% to get the pattern to standout more.

As this photography game goes on you get more and more critical of your own work, I suppose posting them gives you a sense of perspective from others!! :)

Cheers
