Hi.
I switched on my TV this morning to find that it couldnt get a signal on anything.
So, this afternoon, i redid the end of the cable, plugged it back in the telly, and retuned.
No services found.

Im not gonna get a chance to look at the aerial, which is in the loft, for a few days, but is this likely to be an aerial or TV problem?

TV is a Sony KDL-40W4000.

Thanks in advance all.

Just nicked the Samsung from downstairs, same problem.
So its obviously an aerial fault. Just got to work out what sort of fault...

was the transmitter ok, did you check to see neighbours weren't having a problem? if so, check wiring to aerial etc. etc.

is it running through a booster if so check that the booster has not gone down
No booster.

How very odd, i just turned on my telly, and its working again?
##EDIT##
Corrected, BBC3 works, everything else is screwed. And a channel search wipes out and gets only 6 channels, compared to 100+ before? :(.

##EDIT2##
Another search shows up 34. Still very low...

Same here today, i think its the weather, the itv channels and 4's are going iffy on my freeview box today, checked the signal and quality, and both bars are going 55-60% when they have always been on 95 and 100, also happening on the Tv downstairs which is on a different aerial to the one upstairs (and has built in freeview), channel 5, sky sports news, and those bid Tv channels were going iffy, luckily though ive got a sky box as well, so i can just watch them on that.

EDIT: Just found this handy site, tells you if theres any problems at your transmitter, i checked mine, and sure enough, the part that supplies the itv channels etc... that im having probs with, says the effective power level is on low, the rest are on maximum.

Weird this, ITV channels and that are working on the freeview Tv downstairs, Channel 5 and Bid Tv etc... isn't again, and upstairs Tv with Freeview box (which is also on its own loft aerial) has the ITV channels still going off/on through low signal/quality and Channel 5 etc... working fine, odd. :p
