Hi guys,
last week I bought the Xperia X1 on contract from Dialaphone for £40 a month - well.. i've received it and after having high expectations i'm pretty disappointed. Yeah.. this is my first windows mobile phone but its sooo slow. I tried putting the generic UK rom on it - things feel exactly the same. 10 seconds to start up the camera, severe lag to get into any of the phones main functions. The email / sms / phone part is all dog ugly and clunky... awww my dreams of having a swish phone that can do all these neat things was dead.
It's also frequently dropping calls and has some poor signal.
So i contacted dialaphone.. nope - they wont let me return it for a different phone, no chance, no way, no how - they will swap it out for another x1 but something tells me that wouldnt make any difference.
Has anyone had any luck in returning a phone to this company? I really dont want to be stuck with this for 18 months.. I just didnt expect it to be quite this clunky. It seems to lack some vital functions - I guess it really is just windows pretending to be a phone. No backlight just for the time, the ringtones sound dull and muted and the vibration is just that.. always on!
How am i expected to know what a phone is like without turning it on? seems some poor business practice.
Any help at all? or failing that, a way to make it suck less?
Thanks!
