I was thinking of ordering one of these. Ive done a search on here and very little came up, and google didnt say much either.

Ive just come off a 680i mobo as im normally a nvidia fan, but im moving onto 4850's and intel chips as i fancy a change.

anyone care to shed some light on it? / what should i expect?
:)

I had an X38-DS4 which is identical, just with a different heatsink....rather solid board, good features, pretty good overclocker. BIOS is a little confusing though.

Running one in my system at the moment, running at 8600 @ 4.4ghz with a GTX 8800 so far been quite impressed, only thing I dislike I had trouble controling my fans which the my old board (Abit IP35 Pro) done quite well.

I was tempted to buy one of the B grade boards.

i was pretty impressed with 8usb's on the back.

sounds like you recommend it then reflux? its £85 in the B grade.

Yeah, go for it, although obviously be aware that it's b-grade so the warranty might be non-existent and you might get f'all in the box/no box at all :)

I think it's end of line - as there is no B grade in the description - not sure if that means anything :o

can anybody clarify this point?

i did notice these about a week ago, I think there were 9 or 10 units - now just 4

are these end of line, but new products?

it looks like its on offer/clearance, definitelly not bgrade

well, i found it under B grade. I hope its clearance...... extras

thanks all for the help. Its ordered and should be at home....when i get home. :)

ill post what i think when every things running, assuming there's some left.

Yeah that's one thing I miss about my 680i board. With it you could control each 3 pin fan header individually, With the Gigabyte X38/X48 you only have the option of controlling the fans with 2 options which are Voltage or PWM. The option applies to all headers so you can't have one fan running 12v and the other running 5v
