Hello,

A friend asked me to find him a new car stereo with USB. I found one (Beat 100) for £39.99 (Budget is as low as possible).

The only issue is that it is only 25 watts x 4 channels Max Power output.

The car it will be used in is his wifes '99 corsa. I was thinking that as the speakers in the car will be rubbish anyway, it wont matter that the output is only 25 watts and not 40-45 like usual.

Just wondering what you lot thought?

Its cheap, what do they expect?

Outputs won't make a difference on such a cheap unit.

Have a search for Sony CDX-GT range (GT410U), they are good for the money.

So it would be suitable for an everyday non audio enthusiast for everyday use with rubbish speakers?

The sony CDX-GT USB model is £59.99 which is too much sadly.

£50 max including postage. I couldn't find anything but the BEAT 100 for that price that had USB.

You don't have to be an audio enthusiast to enjoy good quality music.

Sounds like the one you have selected will be sufficient enough for them, however.

Sorry to hijack thread, but what is the cost of a nice system for a car?

I mainly listen to liquid dnb so highs and lows are important :p

Would £500 get be able to sort me out?

Or even £400 for that matter =)

I picked up a sony gt44ip from work for £34 or something. Down to £40 in the sale. That comes with a built in ipod lead + input ont he front but no usb. Probably a better unit for the price though.
