Fair enough, I just presumed it would be same as his normal jobs except after he found out he got wrong guy.

All the episodes I have seen, he does a lot of ground work - such as sneaking in to the persons house to find evidence, or whatever.

He doesn't just grab somene and think "he is guilty". Even in the first episode, with the priest he kills for example.

His code says make 100 percent certain. As for state excutions, I imagine some o them are innocent. Perhaps some false imprisoment too.

They are morally in the same group, however legally not which considering you've been arguing semantics means i've no clue where that falls in with the definition, as I'm sure it has a legal element to it. But yes i consider state executions to be evil.
 
i love the series and see dexter as a good guy doing what a lot of us would want to do!! (yep me included) getting rid of filth more effectively than the justice system. Dont forget that when he is doing hiw ground work on his victims it's mostly his "dark passenger" urging him on. I actually prefer the tv series to the books! imo.
 
He isnt a hero... hes a villain. But i love him.

What he is doing is highly illegal and he is considered to be a bad man (bay harbour butcher).

However... i love him... he is amazing, his personality and whit is amazing.

In my opinion what he is doing is for the greater good but still he is a sick man lol... without Harrys code he would just kill willy nilly.

That;s not what an eye for an eye is about. And eye for an eye is retribution, defending yourself against an attack, or defending someone who cannot defend themselves is not an eye for an eye. If only for the fact you are not meant to use any more force than is necessary.

And thats excluding the fact that a successfully defence means there was only one "eye" taken and thus it leaves only the victim sighted and attackers blind.

Oh, you would do it would you? I watched that video of the Ukrainian teens that went on a murder spree last year (killing 21 people) and recorded themselves beating a homeless guy to death. I say watched the video... I watched about 15 seconds until the hammer came out and I died a little inside and turned it off. I felt completely empty inside after the 15 seconds I'd just witnessed. And it affected me for days. I say go watch that video and then compare it to your Dexter or proclaim you could go out and batter someone to death. The reality is a lot less enjoyable than a good TV show.

I think a lot of people who proclaim "I'd do XYZ to his ABCs and cut off his 123s are full of the proverbial excrement and should keep their mouths shut instead of making themselves look like further fools". And OCuK is as full of them as any other forum I've been on.

Voicing your impotent rage s probbably more healthy than bottling it up though.

So long as none of them ever try to achieve such ends.

I do however kind of want him to be caught strangely enough, I would love to see his sister's reaction!
 
oh dear atrox- did i actually say i would? no...but there's a dark passenger in us all i think that would happily shake dexter's hand. he doesn't really beat homeless people to death does he?
As for his sister , hmm undecided but i do agree with shep about Rita!
