Im just wondering what measures you all take (that I can steal for myself) to protect your selfs online.

From having user loggins for mysites, servers, email addresses, paypal, ebays & online banking, I'm finding a it difficult to think of a system where by I can create some sort of set structure of username & possibly passwords that I can understand but is pretty hard to break/remember for anyone else.

Currently I want to enter a username or password for a site, other than OCUk, I mount a an encrypted volume on my USB pen that I hide.

As you can imagine that does me head in, so I'm looking for alternative methods to manage my online accounts & things.

seems a bit extreme. windows firewall and hardware firewall sorts me out.

AVG Internet Security 8.whatever and Adaware. I don't see the point in encrypting user names etc, I only have one here, AVFORUMS, and my yahoo email.

.

why :/

Most security breaches arn't from someone hacking it but by someone dling dodgy porn with a key logger or having their pw phised.

I keep all my passwords on an SD card. Most of them are 64 characters long, so I can't remember them. And each password is different as I randomly generate the strings. I just cut & paste.

Probably. But my card never leaves my person. Ever. Except when I put it in a machine to cut passwords. Then it goes straight back into my pocket.

Where does it go at night if it doesn't leave your person.....although that may make it less attractive for potential thieves!

I have a virtual machine I use for porn, and anything suspicious as thats where the biggest threats are.

I use windows firewall and the one built into my router, providing you keep your OS up to date and antivirus current then you'll be fine.
