Hello!

DVI to HDMI adaptor which is for example in box with 4870,4850,etc...

does it means that i can connect with cable HDMI to HDMI to my TV and have pc's picture on TV?
will sound i have too?

You can plug any graphics card into pretty much any TV, via a number of ports.
As far as I am aware, you'll need to use the special DVI-HDMI adaptor with a supported graphics card (The HD range supports this I believe) to have sound through the HDMI.

Most of the ATI cards with the hdmi adapter will output audio as well as video. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone. I'm not sure what thte situation is with Nvidea cards (haven't had one for a while).

So, yes, one cable from pc to tv = video + audio. In fact my htpc is connected to an amp (surround sound) and that to the tv. That way I get surrouns sound and video from one cable.

You get sound and video if you use the bundled dvi to hdmi adapter.

I have a 4870 and it looks 'SPIFFING' :p on my LG tv...

I had to setup the output to the tv for 1080p which was a bit of a pain first time but now its done it works perfect.....:D

hdmi output is digital video (as is DVI). If TV and graphics card have hdmi use it for video. For audio you have choices

1

The ati cards can also send sound through ati HDMI converter but you must

use their adapter and
install the ATi audio device (instructions on amd site)
and select the ATi sound device as your output for sound

or

2

You can use the ati hdmi for video but send audio out through you sound card to the tv using a cable

option 1 gives less cables and lets protected HD content play (HDCP protection).

Option 2 probably wokrs anyway for most HD content but may not allways work.
