Xbox 360 - does a wired controller respond quicker?

Been playing with wired for a few weeks due to needing more batteries. Recently got the batteries and noticed no difference.

This is playing mostly shooters.

I do however notice a decrease in my tendency to trip myself up.

Thats because the xbox controller will still play wirelessly even with the play & charge kit.

The cable is just for power, not controller signals

Probably, but I doubt most people would notice it. Same thing applies to wireless mice and keyboards, I've been using wireless stuff for years and never noticed a difference in gaming.

switchig to a wired mouse and keyboard was the best thign i ever did. OMG THE BATTERIES. Drove me nuts randomly dieing on me in games lol.

Never had that problem myself. The Logitech software gives you plenty of warning that batteries are low. I keep getting a notification at the moment, for example, telling me that my keyboard batteries are low, but it still reckons I've got 16 days left.

I can just imagine there being a whole bunch of energy drink swigging, prepubescent boys out there who have bought wired controllers in the blind faith that it's going to give them the edge in Call of Duty 4
