4870X2 Crashing.

So iv got rid of my 4870 CF set up for a sapphire X2 from ocuk to give myself more room but on game joining my rig crashes. Vantage is the same. PC all at stock speeds and my CF set up was perfectly stable even when all clocked. What do you guys recommend?

Getting rid of old drivers with some kind of DriverCleaner and installing the freshest ones.

I'm currently getting in contact with Sapphire for their recommended course of action to solve it.

I would RMA it mate - not worth the hassle with tinkering, you know you board is good for crossfire.

Yeah, check the temperatures. These cards get hot.

Mine had the fan at a stock setting of 27% which, if left, the temperature would just keep climbing and getting higher. Its not until I set it in the low to high 30's that the temps become reasonable, later in the evening it drops substantially more. I don't know precisely what constitutes an ideal idle / load temp but when the load temp on mine reaches higher than the mid 60's I increase the fan a little. Depends on the game of course.

Nah temps are good. i think it must be borked as my rig wont even post now. im using vista 64 but only single screen. Ima RMA it me thinks.

I got dual screens with Vista x64 and X2, it has never crashed.

Dare I say the problem might lie away from the card?
