195/60/R15 to 205/55/R16 any problems?

Managed to remove a large chunk of alloy off my wheel due to some ice, so need to get a new one, so it appears be easier to buy a new set.

There are some volvo ones on ebay for my V70 but there are 205/55/R16 where mine as 195/60/R15.

What I am not sure of is will I get any problems using them on my car? As I dont really understand about wheel and tyre sizes

Any help is appricated

That should be ok, but you need to have the same tyre size on each side of the car otherwise it will fail the MOT and do nasty things to the diff...

Yeah I would be buying a set of 4 of the 205/55/R16s

The speedometer will read about 2.7% too slow with the larger wheels/tyres. Since it will almost certainly be over-reading anyway, this shouldn't present too much of a problem.

Final diameter is about half an inch taller, and space for brakes will be OK.

Width and offset will be the main issue. So long as the car could be bought with those wheels it'll be fine.

They have come of a 99 850/V70 TDi and going onto a 99 V70 so should be fine, if not i will just sell them on

Volvo wheels come up very frequently. I just bought a set of 15s for my 850 from Salvogroup.

My advice is hold fire. There is no need to rush, the correct size ones will appear within a week or two.

have you thought of trying partsgateway.co.uk for an individual rim? You can submit a photo with your search and they only contact specialist breakers. I've never had a problem with anything i've had from them and they've always found what I wanted.

Im watching the ones on the bay, also trying to find out a number for the place on *** A1 just north of the Black Cat as he seems to have a ton of volvos out
