I've risked injury diving to turn this off on the radio. I'm sure the original instrumental was great but this has ruined any chance of me ever taking it seriously. Whoever thought they were the ideal lyrics must have been bludgeoned in the head at some point in the past. Clearly a case of 'It rhymes and makes no sense. Good enough'.
 
There's been some crackers over the years but the following lyrics have got to be the worst couple of lines I've ever heard in a song.

I still like a lot of the old T.Rex stuff but the lyrics to most/all of their songs are complete drivel or nonsensical.

Wether the lyrics need to be changed is another matter. :D

Also, isn't the line in that Killers song a direct quote from someone?

Come to think of it, Coldplay have some fairly daft lyrics such as in Fix You:

Good point, I have yet to hear a song or dance type track that has actually been improved by adding a vocal. I've almost always have preferred the instrumental... I think that Spiller "GrooveJet" song may be the exception tho, as the vocal actually works well on that track.

The Kaiser Chiefs seem to have a trend of awful lyrics, Ruby is trash.

As much as I like The Mars Volta, their songs frequently make absolutely zero sense.
