Kawasaki GPZ900R

Great machine in its time but very tame now . Most 600's would beat it in power and any modern 1000 will be double the horsepower .

Im not that far from you so once the better weather comes in i will happily take you out on the Tuono (or whatever i buy next) Im quite often down the ace cafe .

Persil

I remember my first go as pillion on a "big" bike, really amazed me how fast it was! At the time I was 16 and used to my 50cc scooter! When you get to ride one yourself and really give it the beans its a whole new story!

God how I miss my bike :(

hehe and theyre probably no more than 110 bhp back wheel :p
Want a go on the back of mine, or one of the guys on here with a modern 1000? :D

Stats for the GPZ . As i guessed 106 bhp and 250kg wet so abit of a bus lol

Was an iconic bike when i was growing up but rare to see on the road now . Although if you have never been on a bike im sure it felt mighty quick when u think most modern cars are about 100 bhp and over 1000kg (approx)

But with all the new breed of sports bikes running around 180 bhp and 180kg you can see how things have moved on .

Stats incase yer interested

Guys, I haven't been on the back of one of these.

I was just reading up on it. And wanted to see if any of you got the reference and clue I made in the post...can anyone get it?

Btw, I have never been on the back of a very fast bike but am gagging to. I love ******** my pants. :)

Haven't been on the back of what?

EDIT: Oh, Top Gun. Well, that was a great game!

I remember after I did my CBT my friend took me out on the back of his 600 Bandit, HAHA oh man, I was glad I'd booked the DAS after that, scared the hell out of me and I wanted to be able to see what I was going, not just weeds at the side of the road getting closer!

I watched some program about WWII recently.

When the rider leans over and you spot 170 on the digital speedo you know you're having a good time. He was a complete stranger too!

I want to start biking again!

the first 150mph superbike....

like others say though, it's prolly got no more than about 80-90bhp at wheel, so half the power of a modern 1000 and any modern 600 would leave it for dead

was a ground breaking bike though, a minter has gotta be worth some dosh i rekon.. i'd love to have a go on the old gpz750 turbo

edit : dry weight of 228kg, man thats heavy, almost 60kg heavier than my 10 lol

First big bike I ever rode. Comes as a bit of a shock after a 250 when you get to a bend and it simply doesn't want to lean over...you learn about counter steering very quickly!

That's what happens when you jump on the back of bikes at the lights!

A turbo'd bike sounds hilarious.

I wonder what we'd make of the GPZ750 turbo now.
I saw one for the 1st time in about 10 years at Santa pod about 4 years ago. made me realize that I'd not seen one for so long.

I think most of them ended up Wrapped up around lampposts due to the fabled Turbo kicking in at the wrong moment. (Including a old mate of mine that now lives in OZ because of the pins in his Legs)

I wonder how us Modern 1000cc sports riders would get on with this bike now?
Find it tame on Power but the frames a Liability
or Just Plane Scary

I'm in London and am already crapping myself, having seen your Busa sig... : /!

'Busa trike if I remember correctly. So at least you would have somewhere to sit/hold on properly! :D . Not quite as good acceleration as a normal 'busa (power to weight slightly worse) but still bloody quick and definitely faster than a GPZ900R :p .

lol on the back its no different to a normal bike , its only had the swing arm/wheel removed/replaced so only in corners it feels different :D

as for acceleration theres nothing in it ive got the gearing just right
other busa owners who have had a go say it dont feel any slower , they have so much grunt
itll be top end where i lose out allthough the place that done the conversion for me say they had 190 out of theirs [ on the clocks i presume ]
ive had just over 150 with plenty to go but im not sure how much the clocks are out i must get a gps to find out

where in london class04 im also in london :D
