How much better can we except this card to be over a 4870X2 and 280GTX?
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

The GTX296 is just two GTX280's so look at any review which compares GTX280 in SLI to get an idea of performance which will indeed surpass the 4870x2.
Too expensive because of the weak £. I think I'll skip this die shrink update and wait for the newer technology (plus a stronger £).wonder how much these will cost and will it be worth it

its two 260 shrinked to 55 nm with more memory not two 280's![]()
IMO I think the pricing for the new cards will go something like:
GTX295 - £500
GTX285 - £350
GTX265 - £200
Then when it turns out the GTX295 isn't that much faster than the 4870X2, it'll drop down to about £430, not that it'll stop the fanboys purchasing it on launch at the fully bloated retail price of about £600 by the time it gets to them.
Wrong way around - it's two GTX285's on a 448-bit bus with 896MB of memory per core.
No doubt this guy will go quad SLI with them http://uk.youtube.com/user/trubritar?ob=1

I stumbled upon this one quite a while ago, he has some insane money to spend on toys.I do like nerds, but there's a limit!

I also think he has the coolest geek accent ever, I just can't place it at all.
