Current contract has been going for 7 years, currently on £20 a month and 300 texts and 50 mins which is shocking.
Will probably go for the Samsung Omnia as the Pixon isn't on Vodafone :( but do you reckon i'll (under 18 so my dad) will be able to get a far better deal due to the length of time this contract has been running?
I was hoping for £25 a month with unlimited texts and 100 mins with the free Omnia, do you reckon this will be possible?
Any techniques for getting a better deal also :D

EDIT: There is also a C905 on there, however it isn't a smartphone and is a bit bulky and ugly, so not to sure on it
Thanks
Kane

At renewal, ask for your PAC code. They will ring you back(dad) and ask what tyou would like to stay.

I was offered a free Blackberry storm on £30 a month including unlimited data & BB service.

At renewal, ask for your PAC code.

This is the way to do it in my opinion. When you ask for your PAC code, the person on the phone will offer you some bits and pieces that should be an improvement over what you have (you're getting an awful deal at the moment). Just ask for the PAC code anyway and tell them you'll think about it. A couple of days later, their retentions team will phone you, usually with a better offer.

The trick is to be realistic and to know what you want. Don't expect a free premium phone on a cheap contract but do expect to get it fairly cheap. Maybe have a couple of alternative phones in mind and see if they give you a better deal on a different model. You'll also need to know what other networks are offering, so you can say something like "well T-Mobile were going to give me this..." and see if Vodafone will offer better.

At the very least you need to know what you can get elsewhere as a new customer and tell Vodafone you want them to beat it because you've stayed with them for so long.
