Is it me or do orange make no sense?

Ok well my contract is avail for renew/upgrade etc. I requested or should i say asked nicely for a SE C905.

Im currently on Dolphin £35 a month. I knew i may possibly have to pay some fee however website was offering £90( but the phone usual cost on my tarrif is £127) discount on any handheld but then i actually was told by a guy(who i do know very well) from work who is on the same tarrif and he got the phone for free! >.<

So i ring orange and im told they cannot do that and all they can offer is the price deduction on the website but i have to go through that so i say well in a month or so will be free more than likely or i could go else were and it well to recive the responce of they will speak to cancelation team who then say they would offer me even less than the website ?? ok is it me or is that just plain stupid!!

Anyway rant over just annoying how companys make no sense 9 times out of 10
 
did he get it from someone else by any chance?
did he get it last month?
has he been with orange longer than you?
does he go over his bills?

any of those could contribute to him getting it for free and you not.

i'm sure there are other things too btu i just don't know any more off the top of my head
 
could be why.
not sure exactly how their loyalty points work but if he's been with them a lot longer and they generally make a lot more profit out of him they might be able to throw a bit more money at him
 
They lob expensive phones for free and tariff discount at me when I say I might leave at renewal.

Been with them 10 years I think now, and am somewhat of a bigger spender than average.
 
slightly off topic but just wanted to say my gf has just had a great deal from orange (well imo any way). they offered her a brand new samsung pixxon for free on an 18 month contract paying £19.50 per month which means she can add add me as magic number with unlimited calls to me and the deal gives unlimited texts so she will never go over the £19.50, unless of course she starts cheating on me :( . can't believe how much better contracts are these days.
 
don't worry mammalian, you get a new magic number every six months.
That way, if her lover is on orange too, she still won't go over the £19.50 ;)
