Hey all!

I recently came across the next Terminator film, and noticed that Christian Bale was staring in it this time!
Which lead me to his Wikipedia page, where I noticed this little gem:

I've enjoyed all of Christian Bale's films so I'm really excited that he may have the oppotunity to become one of my favourite gaming characters :eek:

Any thoughts on this? Or anyone have any further developments for this that I'm unaware of?

I never really thought of Christian Bale a a runner for Solid Snake, but now when I look at it, he does seem suited towards that role. With his unshaven look and the strain-like voice he uses as Batman, or from his character in Reign of Fire, I'm sure he could pull it off.
 
But how can it be released in 2009 when he's been working on Terminator aswell which comes out next year? I know they can work on multiple movies but surely he'd have been tied up for months with Terminator.

Unless MGS is coming out like Dec 2009.

I'd say December 2009 at the very earliest for MGS... They haven't even started shooting yet - 2010 is probably a better bet

There are better people to be Snake, Hugh Jackman springs to mind. Or if the story is anything like MGS4, get Kurt Russell, seeing as it was his character in Escape from New York that inspired Hideo.
 
Christian Bale this Christian Bale that. THE most overrated actor of recent times. He was **** as Batman. He was like a kid playing a mans role with a womans voice.

Oh yeah he also beats his mother :) great role model there.

That's your opinion of his acting, and also shows you just believe whatever the media shove down your throat, it's been stated numerous times that it was just an argument..
 
I used to joke that Steven Segal was the best man to play Snake. Now I think Viggo Mortensen is the only man who could do it justice.

Hugh Jackman would not make a good Snake.

One of the best actors going imo
 
Bale is a fantastic actor, however i do dislike it when people base that judgment on The Dark Knight. While a great film it is nowhere near Bales best performance, films like The Machinist and American Psycho are far better showcases.


Just leave metal gear as a game please, i'm sick of seeing my favorite games being ruined in the transition to the silver screen. Silent Hill was the last straw.
 
there is NO way you could get christian bale to play snake, hell he doesn't even look anything like him, bales lower jaw is quite narrow, snakes is quite wide, im with viggo mortensen here, hes got the 'weathered' look snake has! the problem is snakes voice is pretty unique as far as actors go, and its not snake without that voice!
