The 'Any Type' option works the same as ever, it just lets you suggest a category; National Loan / First Option, International Loan / First Option, Work Permit, Commercial Link and that sort of thing. If you choose a certain type, then the board will come back to you with 3-5 options of clubs of that type. If you're going to select a specific club with the 'Choose Club' button, then you needn't bother with it.

The 'Choose Club' option lets you choose literally any club you want from the entire gameworld. Like I said earlier on, though, it seems to be very difficult to get one to actually agree to being a feeder. While I was playing as Leeds, a few times I selected local clubs from the Championship or League One, which I thought would be a pretty good choice, but it never came off, don't know why.

Sounds good. I look forward to getting that choice in game sometime. :)
 
Just managed to sign Iker Casillas on a free, and for some reason, Sergio Ramos for £10m! Both on £100k'ish wages, and got Guilherme coming for £26m too. I like spending money :(.

You'll be glad to know Huntelaar is now broken. He's scored 1 goal in 8 games this season :p

My top scorer is my Wing Back..8 goals in 11. Then Robinho is 6 goals in 11, and Aguero 4 in 11.

Robinho is doing well assist wise, 7 in 12. Not bad :D.

Just had a message that RAmos was offered to me, put in a random bid not looking, went through to contract, £99k a week and then accepted :/.

Iker was out of contract and was unhappy and wanted a new challenge, so that was part of getting him.

Must be a bug, the Ramos thing, hes worth £30m+.
 
well some of my signings are having what is described as mares in the business :p

rossi of the guiseppe variety has got 2 goals in 20 games, thats right folks a 1 in 10 ratio :p however this is made even worse by the fact he only gets played in the sure fire winners lol

Paloshi has a tear watering 1 in 13 lol

however rooney and huntelaar are doing pretty damn good TBh, rooney is 23 in 28 or something similar huntelar is just above his normaly 1 in 2 average and Higuain is bang on 1 in 2.

however i am having a fantastic season, spent a lot of time adapting tactics this year to try and get my forwards scoring more, made a number of changes in the last 5-6 games and im creating loads of CCC as well as getting my forwards far more involved int he game.

Im also as a side note manager of england :p

Hmm sounds like me, VDV and Arsenal. Arsenal signed VDV but didn't play him much so he moaned to press. So I cheekily said I thought he was a quality player. VDV appreciated the comment. :cool: Then all of a sudden Arsenal offer him to me for his market value, about £9.5m. :D Scored on his league debut as well. :)

well im starting to really enjoy the game eventhough rossi isnt scoring lol my tactic seems to have got the best out of a lot of players, its a highly tweaked version of one of knaps tactics from the forum.


defensively i have only conceded 6 goals i think in 30 league games, and i am winning most games by 2 or 3 -0 i will upload it later if theres much interest to try it, but as it seems most of FM09's tactics are team and player specific then it may or may not work for you.
 
saying that there are some strange things afoot in the game lol

just playing wigan, 1-0 up after 30 seconds :p then they substituted a player straight after lol substitue for wigan in the 1st minute ;p

I noticed something similar in a match and I know someone else had that. The player wasn't injured was he? The subsituted player in mine wasn't injured. The AI just took him off. :confused:
 
Sorry I might have missed it, but couldn't see anything... how long do you have to be at a club for before they'll allow you to manually choose a club as a feeder?
 
Probably a year or so? Long enough for the board to feel you aren't going to leave and you want to be a part of the club for a while longer. They probably also want you to be quite successful for the club so Fergie/Wenger would have more say than say Ince at this point in time.
 
Nah, has to be 2 years or more, been at Sunderland since the start and it's currently March 2011 and I've never had the confidence rating lower than "pleased". Last time I checked also for feeder was a few months ago in game and they just gave me three options to pick from, no option of whether I wanted one for permits or not, and no option for "Choose Club".

Maybe it's just Niall Quinn being a pillock :P
 
Well it will vary from club to club. Bigger clubs might be harder to get to that stage. But then again also possibly hard for smaller clubs because you haven't had as much success as you could have done at a bigger club. :p

Or it could just be Niall Quinn as you say. :D
 
Lol. I've not had the chance to do this in FM09 but in FM08 it was pretty useless. I asked for a commercial link club I think and the board couldn't find me one. And since I'd asked for a new link club I had to wait to be able to ask again. Should have been allowed to ask again straight away but choose another type of club. :p
