Whats Aiya Napa like for a lads holiday?

its a **** hole like most other places that are rammed with ****ed up brits all summer.
if you are going to get wasted and catch a disease, then head on out there, it will be perfect.

It depends on what you want, we stayed down the coast in protaras which was more for families etc. We went down to aiya napa a couple of times for nights out, it was good. Decent bar street and clubs, the beach looked decent as well in the day

It depends entirely who you go with, I went with my boxing club and I only really knew one person there, got to know the other pretty quick though and had a great time.

If I had gone with my regular lot it would have been hell on earth, so tacky and grotty, its chav on a plate.

Makes me wonder whether any people making the comments have actually been (or like a good time!)

Me and the girlfriend went this summer, stayed in Nissi Beach Hotel which is 2 miles up from Agia Napa central. The area we stayed was more family orientated but some of the beach parties going on were very good. The walk down to Agia Napa had loads of cool bars with lots of entertainment. The hotel had a private beach which was awesome. Gorgeous bay with watersports on a little island.

We went for nights out in Agia Napa about 4 times... never once did I feel threatened or like I was going to be in a brawl. Just a top night out an there was no more scallies than you'd get on a typical night in Manchester. Funnily enough I usually get in a brawl when I go out in Hanley so it made a change not too :p Majority of the bars are themed... go to the flintstones bar as it's cracking in there. There is some places that were sleazy... but you get that anywhere.

Would defiently reccomend... it's hot though in the main summer months. We went in July and it was hitting 42/43.

I know how to have a good time. Been to most of the places people go on lads holidays.
As a couple, you would have had a much different experience to a group of lads on a lads holiday.
No more chavs than manchester on a night? well, thats far too many for my liking.

You don't go to aiya napa for the culture..

Strikes me as a stupid thing to do if you don't even like Manchester as a night out ;)

Granted, but we still spent time in the same places you would on a lads holiday... and I saw no trouble.

Well what are you doing replying to a 'lads' holiday thread? Your obviously going to have a very biased opinion if you can't even stand a night out in Manchester...

Most lads won't go anywhere for the culture. However I don't get this quote either... there are numerous places of cultural interest in Cyprus. Famagusta, no mans land, the viewpoint... plenty of interesting places.

Sorry for digressing away from the orignal thread, although it's hard when people come up with mis-informed replies.

Yes there are cultural places, i didnt say there wasnt.

why am i replying to a lads holiday thread?
because umm maybe ive been on a few and umm maybe most places are ****e. Only decent place i've been was Ibiza, and that was generally keeping away from the crap end of town.

You might not have seen trouble, i never said anything about trouble. just that in general, its a place where lads and girls groups go on holiday.

I even said it could be perfect for the OP, so how about you foxtrot oscar :]

Agreed mate, Nissi Beach area is fine and very quiet. Lovely beaches too. When we were there last year we went to Yo Thai! restaurant just 15mins walk towards Aiya Napa. Best damn food I've had in years and every one of the waitresses was stunning :D

Aiya Napa isn't great to look at but the bars are OK for a lads holiday. Went there with my future father in law and had a right laugh with the Welsh Elvis impersonator :p

We went in August and it was 34-37 degrees C most days which was a tad too hot, but it was unusually warm for the season apparently.

I was out in Ayia Napa about 6 or 7 years ago for a lads holiday with a bunch of mates. It revolved more around garage and dnb than Ibiza did at the time which is why we chose it. We didn't do any of the tourist stuff, just drank all night and slept all day. I don't actually remember much of it. The highlights of the holiday were my mate falling asleep on a sun lounger while we were at the beach and waking up with one side of him bright pink and the other pasty white. He looked like one of those nougat bars. And my other mate getting sucky sucky off a prostitute and then being pepper sprayed by the local police mid way through the act.

So if you want to do more of the touristy stuff, go outside Ayia Napa. I was in Limassol a few years ago with family and did the touristy bit.
