A OcUK band?

Its a good idea but this fails on this forum because people tend to not be organised enough or have no structure to their progress.

If you are going to do this, first thing about a song structure that you can all decide on, then get a rhythm section down.

Reason could work if you really wanted to use it. Bounce out 4 bar loops...

I think almost everyone has different systems and software, so our best bet is to pick a BPM - say 120 for now, then record 4 bar loops on guitar, drums, etc... Then post up the raw recordings in .flac (or mp3 if you absolutely have to)...

Then someone could do a mixdown from all the flac files, then post the mixdown...

This sort of thing has been done before - Shadow Huntaz released an album in around 2001 called "Corrupt data"...

It was a hip-hop album, the MC's lived in the US, and the producers and beatmakers lived in Holland (I think)...

They made the whole album by sending clips over the 'net despite never actually meeting up in real life!

This is awesome. And it should be excellent! Someone get the party started so I can sit back and listen to some creative brilliance!
I guess it might have worked better if rz30 posted a clip for us to get started...

I suggest we start with some drums... and also decide roughly on a style and BPM...

Mr best: Do you have a mic'ed up drum kit at all? If you could do a drum track that would be great. :)

All you people who play keyboard - it may also be possible to exchange midi data also (if you've go a midi keyboard that is...)...

I've got a drum kit, yes, and a selection of mics, not loads but probably enough for a fair recording. Yea someone decide on a bpm. And a guide track and I'll lay down some grooves! :-)

Yes me and robo tried this ages ago and it died, just like this thread did :(. I am waiting till febuary when i will be able to produce something pretty siwsh and really whip you guys into action so that i can get producing and use your samples :p

I can play guitar/sing, and would be interested in helping mix something like this. We tried before though, but it never got off the ground.

I would suggest starting a new thread when someone has something ready to be worked on, otherwise people lose interest very quickly!

guitarist/bassist here, also possibly up for it. have a few riff ideas i will try to put some up tomorrow.. it will be rock/blues though.. have good software (cubase/toontrack/BII/guitar rig blah blah blah) that could be used if needed..
