the last nasty that infected your computer?

a mate gave me a file infected with a trojan. i put it on my laptop which doesn't have AV on it.
when i transferred the file to my desktop over my network, Avast! said "this file contains trojan "XYZ". what do you want to do?"
i deleted the file and then set about the ARDUOUS process of scanning my laptop's entire HDD for viruses.
eventually, the page file was infected, as was Fireworks CS3 and some temporary files.
the scan took 6 hours though

I found 60+ on a clients laptop on Thursday. 
He calls it his "porn machine". He looks at dodgy sites, laptop gets infected, brings it to me, I fix it, he gives me a wad and he goes off for a couple of weeks before he is on the phone again.

I can't remember the last time.. Probably about 6 year ago when I was about 13.. Even then I knew what was wrong 
I use to make Virii on the school computers then put a shortcut on the desktop to 'GTA' or 'doom' with a proper logo
and then sit back and lol when I heard about what happened

Get him to use Sandboxie? Unless you really need the cash?
Ditto, for the same reason I suspect.

about 5 years since i had a nasty when i ditched the Windows
I've been using Windows for longer than that and have yet to get one

About a year n half ago,i had a virus which would shut my Pc down the moment windows loaded,and would do this everytime without fail.Ended up buying a new HDD

Mine was about a month ago called the Kryptonik trojan (sp!) and drove me daft fo rabout 2 weeks.
It kept opening up a new browser window with various other sites and none of them porn either.
After a few questions somebody suggested the free Process Explorer and I was able to kill the process and delete the file where other programs couldn't delete it.
