Burn after you read

I very nearly walked out of it. Long, boring and unhumourous with no strong story line. Either do a brilliant comedy with a weak story line, or a good story line with weak comedy, but this failed at both.

Burn after watching :p

The story, when you think about it, is actually funny, it's just that the movie is so badly edited it feels like you were watching really bad short version of re-captured tv series. There are some brilliant performances in there, between the random scenes glued together with nothing more than scotch tape and what feels like serious substance abuse from both directors and producers.

Great film, not up there with the top level of Coen films but defiantly in on the 2nd tier

Was really looking forward to it, but it wasn't nearly as quirky or funny as I'd hoped. Rather disappointing.

Not very good, theres definately something missing from it. The characters aren't serious enough for it to be a drama with oddball characters, and they aren't remotely funny enough to be a simple comedy. Its caught inbetween and fails pretty epically.

Malcovich really does smeg all in the film, he drinks a bit, swears a bit but really nothing he does is funny or interesting, at the end he hacks someone to bits but who cares. The main story seems very broken up and splits between trying to be serious and trying to be funny to often. Pitt's character is funny but he doesn't really have any genuinely funny lines just the way he acts is funny but only sometimes. There isn't a loveable character amongst them which you generally want in a drama or a comedy, someone you want to win or come out on top with. The main women's a utterly stupid hateful person, Pitt's dumb as anything, Malcovich is a dullard, the wife whose name I forget is hateful. Theres no one to pull for, like or remotely care what happens to them.

Clooney played the same damn character as he does in all Coen type films. Maybe the only genuinely funny moment of the film was his unveiling of his sex device.

I liked it. It was a farce about nothing. The CIA/NSA/whatever guys summed up the plot brilliantly at the end.
