Gents I know that this board can be a little temperamental to overclock that’s why I seeking top advice .
As it stands this board is not overclocked but runs fine with no problems at all running 3.16 GHz vanilla at the moment
what I would like to know is if someone could help me get a little more out of her im not looking to go extreme overclock just a "mild" overclock.
Can anyone offer me any pointers? I have been looking at others threads on this board but I still cant make any sense out of them.
Any one brave enough here

Andy is indeed the man. Asus Striker II Extreme, bios 0901, DDR3 Tw3x2g2000c9dfnv 2 gigs --yes it has NV at the end so it will auto detect ram settings, gigabyte 4870x2, Vista 32, gigabyte 800w psu,Asus Artic square, E8500. Basically the same as my sig.

I sent you an email a few days back Andy.

Sorry to jack this but may as well ask here.

I've got a 790i sitting in my room at the moment, not used - planning to set up a system after xmas. To the point though, I'm going to be including it in a watercooling loop though I've heard controversial things about that fusion block.

Can you give me some pointers to make everything above board with it? Maybe what to look for etc? What not to do? :)

I've had no problems with it mate. I use Feser1 fluid and usually change the fluid 2 to 3 times a year with a good flush out for good measure with distilled water :)

try at 1.44. If its crashing, up it to 1.46 or even 1.5 mate :)

Are you at 3.6GHz yet? :)

ok i'll do it now.
