RM or Couriers

How about this then. Bought a NAS box from a fellow forum member weighing 5kg. It was sent by RMSD from Somerset to Orkney. It was posted on Friday 12/12/2008 at lunchtime and was delivered to my house, here in Orkney, at 14:00 on SATURDAY 13th December, not bad 26 hours.

Now everybody on here is usually suggesting DHL next day, Parcels2go or any other firm of white van men who usually take a full week for the same "next day" delivery.

I like royal mail. The reason it's not used so much is for heavy parcels it's silly price.

Best thing about RM is they have depots near your house.

Apart from DHL/Parcel2go.com who usually get things there the next day even when they say it could take 3.

For Orkney, yes.

Most couriers just sub the work out to Streamline Shipping, Orkney Line, that sort of thing, and depending on the ferries delivery generally takes 2-5 working days.
