Out of instrest how can I check what car a reg plate is on ? you got a link ?

any info on how you do this ?
im trying plates on the DVLA website, and one of them that doesnt come up, is V6 VEC which does come up on an auction site. Wondering how many others out there are on auction sites.

the plate you originally suggested was on a vectra vxr estate a few weeks back, i know this as he came to ask my dad a few questions about ours
They ordered it, went to collect it but broke down on the way.

Yes, aslong as it isn't a reg that makes the car appear newer than it is then it can go on.
means somebody has it on retention.
Could be that it just isn't for sale. I was after a registration for my dad not so long ago and it wasn't in use, and the DVLA didn't sell it. Called them and they said they only put a selection of registrations up for sale, low numbers, 200, 300, 400 and other more popular combinations etc. One I was after was B513 XXX and there just didn't seem to be a way to buy it.
