Any other Bikers?

I do like the look of the new 'Busa. I've not had the pleasure of riding one yet but I've only ever heard good things about them. Are they pretty easy to ride? How do they handle compared with a regular supersport 1000?

they are pretty good, dont turn in as quick but feel more stable to me. i quite like a bike you have to put effort into rather than one that just drops in.

Not sure how much time you've spent on the newer Ducati's but they're also not that quick to turn in, they're very stable but even the 848 requires you to manhandle it a little, not like the RC8 which just drops straight in if your eyeballs move.

I'm going to have to get a ride on a Busa sometime. I see an awful lot of them out here in Florida, most of them have extended swingarms though, presumable since there's not an awful lot of bends here....

Yeah, I can identify with that. Recent bikes were a ZX9R C2, Honda Blackbird and GSXR750.

Now riding a Kawasaki Versys with ixil twin pipe. A few other mods, mostly for touring.

*snip*.

Looks like a Versys would suit me completely, my bike is my only method of transport and as much as I love my Speed Triple, and all-rounder it is not.
Luggage is a pain.

Shame the Versys so damn ugly.

Probably switching down to a Street Triple next year.

I'm desperate for a bike. Hopefully if my uni hours are reduced next year I can work so I can afford one.

I'm completely envious of everyone in this thread.

removed passenger pegs (no one would wanna go on back ;))

Sweet bike bud Like the Up and Unders but MY Gf went on the Back of Mine for 300m across a rally Site once.

I even took a groom to His wedding on the back of mine when I was best man, although I don't think he'll Be doing the wedding or going on the back of me again anytime soon :)

as for mine 04 ZX10-R number 32 in the UK.
with just a Akrapovics end Can fitted. So No steering damper. thinking of one now though with some of the roads over here.

:D

Mods so far are only really aesthetic:

R&G Crash bungs (tear drop shape jobbies)
R&G Tail tidy
Yamaha Seat cowl
Powerbronze double bubble

Only managed 40 mils before the wrist started to ache, but one small step for man etc etc ;)

Scort.

I love R1s... The model before yours was the best IMO :p But that's still stunning. Best looking bikes ever to come out of Japan, that rear section is just perfect. No wonder everyone else gave up on underseat exhausts.

Yeah, the ~06 model is lovely, think the only real difference between that and the 07-08 is the air intakes, but I've warmed to those now :D

Scort.

If you mean the 2 exit system 1 up and 1 down then no, both of us hate the sound. It has the full Termi race system though.

The new sound takes some getting used to but now I think its better than the original termi system. Much smoother power delivery low down too. Mind you its a lot of money for an extra 20bhp.;)

I've change my mind its worth every penny :D:D

love it, same screen as me... whats first impressions after riding a ZX6 ?, bet it feels like sitting on a missile :)

Loving the R1, a friend of mine at work has a R6 in a dark grey and it looks mean as:p
Another friend of mine has the older R1 and he loves it.
Just a shame we don't get too much good weather to enjoy them.:(

I am sorry, Iceman, but ir gets no cooler than having that many bikes and being a pilot.

And I am a dull lawyer - how depressing.

First impressions, well I was ****ing myself a bit to be honest, lots going through my head, and also trying to remember things about the running in – the brakes not being up to any decent level of use, tyres to scrub up and the no more than 6K rpm whilst regular gear changes. On top of that worries about my wrist and whether I’d drop the bike – doh!

After getting past some of these things in the first few hundred yards I started to tune into the bike a little and there just seemed to be a mountain of power on tap, but it may just be the torque, as at low rpm, the bike just felt like it was pulling like a freight train.

Massive difference to the 636 and it’s not even run in yet, so I have a long drawn out learning process ahead, but looking forward to it :)

Thanks :)

Yeah, the weather is a bit of a downer, can't wait until it starts getting better, but it's not too bad down here at the moment, tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and warmer (last time I checked), so I'll be riding again.

Scort.
