Hello,

Can anyone tell me what's the brightest bulb money can buy for the standard fitting, be it a classic one, halogen, fluorescent or led, I just want a bright light.

Atm I'm using a classic 100w lamp but it gives too little light.
I've tried a 60w or was it a 75w halogen one, and although it lasted a tiny bit longer, it gave less light.

A few years ago in Poland I saw some 120W bulbs but I can't find them anywhere here and can't find em back in Poland either. Looked in some general shops Germany too...

What's the brightest bulb money can buy, I'm looking for 1000lm + since 900 is too little for me...

Have you not thought about daylight balanced bulbs, either flour. or normal. Lowish wattage but massive light output. Cheap as well, used for constant light studio photography.

You can get Compact Fluorescents that have a rating equal to 100W+ and they provide a "white" light rather than the yellow/orange provided by a standard incandescent tungsten. Some can take a while to warm up, it varies between manufacturers, my Phillips one comes up to about 90% within a couple of seconds. I had a different one before that only came up to 60% after a few seconds and took over a minute to get to 100%.

Stupid idea but have you considered multiple lights? Why light the whole room from one centrally located mega buld when you could get multiple spot lights or some nice side/table lamps?

High wattage incadecent bulbs are getting hard to get gone are the days of picking up some 150w jobbies at pound land.
