He was sent off, universally blamed for England's exit for the World Cup and had effigy's of him burned in the streets whilst being booed for 2 years. "nothing really" is a million miles from the truth, especially considering it was never in a million years a straight red offence.
 
No wonder Ronaldo gets no sympathy


he should have got up and shrugged his shoulders accepting that the tackle was excellent and honest

To me its just another indicator how annoyed/frustrated he is with his performance this season, the attitude has change for the worse, but its understandablye..

Though it was a nothing off the ball incident, it deserved a yellow in my eyes - it was stupid more than anything...

The mad thing is that either he will kick into another gear like last season or (more likely) hell get sent off for something and have to serve a match ban just when Utd need him and just drift off for the rest of the season with patchy play...

The quicker he gets a red and works out there are repercussions to his actions the better for Utd (if you get my reasoning). Its like hes a big toddler and testing the boundaries with the refs - hopefuly SAF gives him a wake up call and whacks him on the bench for a game just to keep him on his toes...

In reality he doesnt need to show us what kind of footballer he is, but his strength of character - I dont like the fella TBH, but its a shame becuase for the impartial spectator hes great to watch (dno if I am now Villa are in the top 4! ;):D)
