Westboro Baptist Church xmas sing along!

Louis Theroux did a documentary on them, its worth a watch. And yeah, their kids are the ones I really feel sorry for, they will have been brought up knowing nothing else and be completely brainwashed with their distasteful brand of Christian fundie-mentalism.

Yeah, but that documentary was entitled "The Most Hated Family in America" (two guesses what that might mean) so I gather they are recieving plenty of hatred already. Its not like America at large supports or condones them. Their kids get stuff thrown at them as well though, so some of that hate is a little misdirected.

I didnt suggest for a second that America did support or condone them, as was amply shown in that documentary when many passers by told the fundies what they though of them as they drove past.

best bit was when the kid got hit by a drink. Well not so much that but the parents reaction. They where just talking about how everything is due to god and then there kid gets hit and suddenly it wasn't Gods plan. :D

Do they think God hates everything and everyone?

Yeah, they even hate the mainstream Christian/Catholic Church.

Princess Diana is a Fag Enabler apparently :D

I was angry about it or that kind of thing at first, but meh, who cares.

There is worse believe it or not, in Texas a similar Mormon religious sect is around, but is far stricter and 13 year olds are forced to marry older men and get raped on a daily basis.

I'm pretty sure its this one. West Texas; The Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Wouldn;t that be illegal?

Yes, but the abuse only came to light a couple months back or mid 08 iirc. Was all over the news. The raid on the property was absolutely huge.

Most of the kid's have gone back there I think...to be raped some more.

Isn't it ironic how Americans rabbit on about religious extremism in the middle east...

Ah, but when its someone elses religion, its much worse ;)

To be honest, all religions can be as good or as bad as eachother. Christianity is responsible for thousands of deaths throughout history (witch burnings and the like) but its just the modern situations that make everyone think that the Muslims are gonna kill us all  :p

Watched louis theroux's program that he made about theese idiots, iirc the members of the church are largely members of fred phelps extended family, has to be some serious inbreeding with this lot to produce loonys on such a scale:D

This is one of the things that I can't solve in my head.

I'm all for freedoms. I disagree with the way our government is passing "thought police" laws. The blasphemy act should have been removed, and nothing put in it's place. We don't need incitement to religious hatred laws.

However, all that said. If this is the result of allowing freedom of speech, is it the price we have to pay? Is it worth it?

They have a point about the whole cult of Christmas being a reason for economic problems. Other than that, ******* mentalists. :p
