The good thing about where I work is that we aren't allowed to do much on the run up to Christmas in case it affects our busiest period. Which means there are a lot of pub visits and a lot of working from home. November was a complete nightmare work wise getting ready for this though which meant I was working a lot of nights and weekends so it's nice to be able to recharge your batteries for the new year.
Working till xmas day, though this weekend off. Then off 25th-30th, in new years eve, off new years day, then in again on the 3rd, then off again for the weekend.
It's confusing
I know next year to save up some holidays for december at least.
Back on the 8th Jan. Then only have to do 8 days between 8th Jan and 12th Feb.
It would be nicer if I had a choice on when to take my hols, but these ones are basically being forced on us (as the company is asking us to slow down a bit) - and more importantly we aren't getting paid for most of them just when we need the money
Christmas day, Boxing day and New Years day along with half days on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve ... anything else you have to take out of annual leave / flex. There is oncall cover during those periods too.
Personally I'm off from lunchtime Christmas Eve until 5th Jan ...
Same I have booked the 29th off as a holiday day, to extend my weekend and 2 days off... little 5 day break.. not so bad when Christmas is on a Thursday!
Just working weekends at the moment, have to work the sunday before and after xmas, supposed to be doing overtime boxing day or new years day (as per contract) but they've said that they've got it all covered so i'm having a lay in
