only just finished my first build about a month ago and im very interested in the modding side of builds. I was thinking of adding a window and spraying the inside black, with a dark red exterior. A few questions tho, cus its so old, will this thing be able to fit most modern parts, ill only be filling it with a cheap bunch of parts, about £400 or so. And by looking at this case, do you think it will be any good modded? or shall i just find a brand new cheap one for £15 or so?

cheers if you can help, i'd love to get into case modding :)

Yeah, motherboard is narrower than ATX so finding something which fits there would be hard.
And cooling of case... now this is super craptacular.

alright, i might just use it for practicing painting on and different effects...

I really want a YCC-61F1 Globalwin, cant find one anywhere tho ><

well first thing i would do is rip out that hard drive cage and make some space ;) erm but yeah the motherboard is going to be a problem.

by all means have a practice at painting with it plus other mods.

Ewww. That would be a problem.

As above, go for it with some spray jobs and try some things out.

By the way, what was the system and does it still work?

our familys first system in the late 90's or summit lol

and i smashed up the old hard drives cus my mum was worried that someone would take our details somehow when we scrapped the pc if they found it lol :D:D:D

last time i remember going on it it was amazingly slow and couldnt do anything lol

God you people are so dull. Case modding is all about using your imagination, of course something can be done with it! :p

Well, I say that, but you might want to strip everything out first and see what you have to work with. The most important will be mounting holes for an ATX motherboard. If it hasn't got them then you could always tap some yourself.

Next thing to look at is ventilation. Measure up where you could put fans, and what size they'd need to be. There's obviously room for one at the bottom of the front, but could you add more where the drive bays are?

It looks like putting a fan on the back pannel could be a bit tricky with that lip and the etrxa port slots, but it wouldnt be impossible. You could well be limited on size though.

A way round this could be to put some nice big fans on the side pannel blowing cool ait onto the motherboard, then have the fans at the front blowing it out.

Of course you'd need to spray it and get rid of the beige, maybe even completely replace the front panel with a new bit of plastic or something if you feel up to it.

Hope that's given you some inspiration anyway!

PK!
